Passionate About Inspiring Others

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ottawa. Since 2011, I have worked in both private practice and social service agencies. From 2013 through 2015, I lectured as a seasonal professor at Algonquin College's Trauma and Addiction Certificate Program. I offer individual, relationship, and sex therapy in English, Arabic, and Armenian to adults 18+.

I earned a master's degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Ottawa in 2011. In Ontario, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO#001132) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Also, I am a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA#3058). At the moment, I have a full-time private practice in Ottawa. The focus of my clinical training is on sexuality, sex therapy, gender identity, and trauma.

Professional expertise:

I have developed expertise in the field of mental health of refugees over the years. Previously, I have co-published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters related to counselling, coming out, and trauma with LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers to Canada.  For my contributions to the well-being of LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers in Canada, I received the 2017 Humanitarian Award from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

I have an international affiliate membership with Division 56, Trauma Psychology, the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Global Institute of Forensic Research.

I have presented numerous workshops nationally and internationally on the mental health of LGBTQI+ and SOGIE refugees and asylum seekers.
